いつかの舞台で

前回投稿から時間が空いてしまいましたがいかがお過ごしですか？

It has been several months since I last posted. How have you been doing?

最近私はありがたいことに、自分の好きなことにどっぷり時間を注いでいます。

好きなことをしている時間ってなんでこんなに満たされるんでしょうね…

These days, fortunately I have plenty of time to spend on what I love such as listening to music, dancing, and composing choreography.

私は昔から音楽に触れる機会が多く、色々なジャンルの音楽を聴くのが大好きです。

最近はPCで曲を作れるので、雨の音や車のエンジン音など様々な音が織り交ぜられていて、面白いなぁと思います。それと同時にインスタントにイヤホンから流れる音ではなく、場を設けて、足を運んで聴く生演奏の素晴らしさも再認識させられますねー。

Being influenced by a family who loves music, I have loved listening to a variety of songs since I was a little kid. I feel recent music is unique in terms of integrating the daily sounds into a song such as the sound of rain or car engines. Technologies enable us to make every sound music. Furthermore, we can access songs wherever we are with digital devices and earphones. That’s amazing! but on the other hand, it reminds me how wonderful live music is. I hope in the near future, I can go to my favorite artists’ live shows as I used to before the pandemic.

踊ることももう長いこと好きで、どこに越しても機会を探してはダンスをしてきたなと。この曲のこのリズムはこう乗りたいとか、これは音はめしたいなとか、いやあえて外してみようとか。そんな風に感じて動くのがワクワクします。メッセージ性のある楽曲の場合は、どう表現しよう、硬いのか柔らかいのか、じっくり向き合うのも好きなのです。日頃言葉に頼って生きているけれど、あえて体や感性だけに頼って表現する時間はそれはそれで気持ちがよくて。今は秋に控えたショーに向けて振り入れ中です。

I have also loved dancing for a long time. Looking back, dancing has been with me wherever I move so far.I am excited to receive the message of the song and express it with motions, carefully feeling its rhythm, grooves, and emotions. As we rely on words in daily lives, dancing, which relies on body instead of speech, stimulates my senses.  Now I’m preparing for a dance show held in November.

振り返ると、私の2度の留学に共通する大きなテーマはアートでした。得体の知れない心打つものの真価を知りたくて、ダンスやオペラ、ペインティングやオーケストラなどたくさん見たり聞いたり触れたりしました。時折言葉では追いつかない感情が現れる。そんな時に孤独にしないのがアートなのかなぁとなんとなーく思ったりします。アートといっても振れ幅がものすごい言葉なので難しいですけどね。

When I threw back my two study abroad experiences, the common purpose was to learn art. I’m curious why art gives me a great impression beyond description.In order to satisfy the curiosity, I tried modern dance and free style jazz dance. Also I visited opera concerts, many exhibitions of paintings, and orchestra shows. Although I have not reached the answer why art is so fascinating, I feel like art is equal to everyone and never discriminates anyone.

私はまだまだ表現に、音に、夢中でいたいし、どっぷり浸かっていたいなーと思う今日この頃でした！ではまた！

I want to keep being a big fan of art and music. Also want to get closer with them.
